Rhea Knives are hand forged in the manner of
old world craftsmanship. I use several steels in the blade
construction. I make hunting knives primarily, but also enjoy making
Bowie knives.
This knife is differentially heat
treated for tough use, but it will look good in the display,
too. The handle is a nice piece of Desert Ironwood and the
Guard has a rope filed for accent. I mortised the handle
and used two hammer textured pins that are surrounded by a
copper sleeve that serves much as a washer to distribute the
pin's pressure. The blade is upswept in the southwest
influence.
